GV II*

House. Late C15 early C16 with later alterations and C20 extensions. Timber
framed and plastered house with crosswing to right. Red plain tiled roof, hipped
with gablet to crosswing and extending over C20 addition to left. 1 storey and
attics. 3:2 window range of C20 small paned casements. Central C20 panelled
door. Central original red brick chimney stack now plastered. Jettied crosswing
with moulded bressumer to rear. Internally, 3 centre arch with sunk spandrels.
Cambered mantel beam to inserted inglenook fireplace. Stop chamfered beams. Two
quadrant and ogee moulded bridging joists. Floor joists with foliated stops.
2 round headed doorways to former screens passage. Jowled storey posts. Perfect
2 armed chamfered crown posts roof structure to crosswing. Pair of doors from
Gaiety Theatre, London. Very good of its type. Moated site. RCHM 8.
