GV II

House. C16. Timber framed with plaster infill and plain tiled roof.
Two and a half-bays, the building truncated to left, with cross-
passage plan. Two storeys on ragstone plinth to large panel framing
with continuous jetty, carried on moulded dragon post and returned
to right return. Hipped roof with gablet to right and stack to right.
Three wooden casements on each floor. Late C20 gabled timber porch
to left incorporating earlier outshot. Two storey late C20 red brick
wing to rear left. Original cross passage entry to right marked by
break in ragstone plinth. Later, and now blocked, doorway to centre.
Rear cross-passage door remains, with four centred arched and moulded
surround with fern-leaf enrichment to spandrel. A second four-centred
arched door remains, probably not in its original position, with the
spandrels carved with scenes of dogs licking ladles and with head
stuck in cooking pot. Moulded fireplace bresummer.
