Circa 1848. Red brick viaduct with string course and coped parapet. Eastern section
has 4 arches including skewed arch across Quay Street with flanking brick pilasters.
Western section has 7 arches. Segmental arches and impost bands.
The Chequers Inn (a building of local interest) forms a group with the Railway
Viaduct and Corrall's Office Building, Upper Quay The Viaduct is of major importance
in relation to the view of the Lower Quay Buildings when approached from the town
centre.
