Early C19. Red brick house with stone bands between floors, wide eaves cornice
on paired modillions and slate roof. 3 storeys. 3 windows sashes with glazing
bars except 2 with modern glazing. Central modern glazed door with rusticated stone
surround and projecting stone porch using Roman Ionic order with plain frieze and
cornice. Good cast iron balcony above porch. Small terrace in front has lost its
railings. Viscount Brudenell lived here until his death in 1868. He became Earl
of Cardigan and, in 1854, ordered the Charge of the Light Brigade during the Crimean
War.
