Stables to Belton Park

A Grade I Listed Building in Belton and Manthorpe, Lincolnshire

Erosion at Belton House stable block

Uploader's Comments

Bees have burrowed into the lime mortar joints between the ashlar blocks and made a nest in the wall south of the cafe entrance. A bee is seen here returning with pollen. Water may collect in their tunnels, and expand as ice in winter, spalling away the stone. (Photo May 2014).
