Terrace house. c.1680, refaced late C18 when most of interior was refitted. Painted
brick with stucco ground floor, slate roof. 4 storeys and basement (top floor
probably late c18 with refronting). 3 windows wide. Ground floor has doorway to
right with panelled door, narrow side lights and patterned semicircular fanlight
overall; 2 ground floor sash windows altered late C19. Upper floors have recessed
sashes, with C19 glazing, under flat gauged arches. 1st floor sill band; parapet
with coping. Ornamental wrought iron bowed balconettes to 1st floor. Interior
retains a number of features: simple early C19 geometric staircase, the compartment
ceiling with large oval skylight; remains of late C18 Doric column screen between
ground floor rooms, the front one with good, inlaid marble, later C19, consoled
chimneypiece, and slightly later carved wooden chimneypiece to rear room with
arabesque and putti frieze; late C18, carved, Grecian, marble chimneypiece in right
hand front room on 2nd floor probably reset from 1st floor, etc.
