Wren Cottage

II

House. 1820, altered later C19 and C20. Roughcast; Welsh slate roof. One
storey; 3 bays, that on left possibly a C19 addition; added wing to rear
right. Three 16-pane sashes with board stable door between the 2 on right.
Stack at right end. Rear: central bay has a 12-pane sash; right-hand bay set
back, has C20 door and window; wing on left has late C20 porch (not of special
interest), cambered-headed window, and hipped roof with stack in right roof
pitch. Left return has a 16-pane sash.
This cottage was built for a retired army sergeant-major.
