Forecourt walls, gate
piers and railings to
Hertford House

Forecourt walls, piers, gates and railings. c.1872-82 as part of
Sir Richard Wallace's alterations to the house. Red brick with stone
dressings and cast iron. The flank walls are articulated by buttress piers
and terminate in square piers surmounted by large highly ornate, trophy and
goat head decorated vases of painted terracotta or stone in the Louis XV
style; gate piers with urn finials; spear head foot gates and carriage
gates, with crown finials to standards, flanking railings.
