Post Office Cottage and the Post Office and Adjoining Wall in School Lane

A Grade II Listed Building in Thorverton, Devon

North front - former Post Office

Uploader's Comments

This is the north side of the building, including the Victorian window of the former Post Office, and part of the first of the two adjacent cottages.
The Post Office closed in 1994 on the retirement aged 90 of the late Postmistress Mrs Kathleen Hill (nee Cummings). She was the last of three post holders beginning in 1870, and the family is commemorated by the blue plaque.
