Mortuary chapel, now Parks and Cemeteries Department store-room.1876.
Coursed squared sandstone with ashlar plinth, quoins and dressings; Welsh
slate roof with stone gable copings. T-plan; Decorated style. Aligned north-
south, with nave and south transept, and porch in angle between the two.
Ritual west gable, to front, has diagonally-boarded double doors in chamfered
2-centred arch with moulded, shafted surround; dripmould continuous with string
on flanking coped buttresses; large wheel window above with cusped tracery;
lancet in gable peak; porch to right has open arch below blind trefoil in gable
peak; tower to right of main gable has shouldered and cusped lights below
brattished parapet. Steeply-pitched stone coping below belfry with cusped
arcade, and patterned bands on octagonal spire with wrought-iron finial. Left
return has 2 vehicle doors inserted in buttressed bays, and panel in third bay
containing spherical-triangular window. Right return transept gable has 2-light
window with cusped plate tracery; large 4-light east window. Steeply-pitched
roofs have gabled kneelers; elaborate stone cross finials.
