Originally called Donjon Grove and dated 1822. Two ranges, joined at ground floor level only. Three storeys stuccoed, Slate roof. Stone parapet with moulded cornice. Some fluted and some plain pilasters. Rusticated bases. Fine cast iron balconies. Round-headed doorcases with eight panelled doors. No 18 has been gothicized and given a castellated parapet, imitation miniature octagonal turrets and some pointed windows. No 23 is a larger house and has a three light canted bay running through all storeys. The ground floor of No 18 is joined to No 19 and has a door having a cornice above with alternate triglyphs and paterae.
Former Municipal Buildings, Nos 12, 12A & Nos 14 to 23 (consec) form a group.
