14/94 The Gift Box and The
Welcome Cafe

Two houses, now shop and cafe. Early C19, subdivided in C20. Squared
limestone; painted raised and chamfered quoins; pantile roof; rebuilt brick
stacks. 2 storeys and attic to left and 2 storeys to right: 6-window front.
Centre right half-glazed double doors recessed in panelled reveals beneath
round arch with rosette and flute moulding. Doorcase of cornice and
entablature on fluted pilasters with rosettes to vestigial frieze. C20 shop
fronts to left and right. To centre, former rear access passage contains 6-
panel, part glazed door beneath grooved triple-keyed lintel. C20
shopfronts to left which retain original lintels. First floor windows are
sashes to right and 12-pane sashes to left, all with grooved, triple-keyed
lintels. Moulded eaves course. Three C20 gabled dormers to left. Coped
gables and shaped kneeler to left. End, centre, and centre left and right
stacks. Included for group value.
