A Grade II Listed Building in Endon and Stanley, Staffordshire

No. 11 lock, Caldon canal, Endon (east gate)

Uploader's Comments

The lock to the east of Hazelhurst junction, Endon on the main Caldon canal. Numbered 11. The lock gates were replaced in 1973. The split bridge with wrought iron spandrels can be seen in front of the lock gate. The flight of stone steps on the left side of the lock are actually part of the weir system and enable water to cascade back into the canal from the side pond.
