Farmhouse. Early C18 for Nathaniel Curzon. Red brick. Ashlar
plinth. Plain tile roof, single red brick stack to each ridge.
Brick coped gables with kneelers. Double depth plan. Gabled
entrance front of 2 storeys plus garret, 3 bays. First floor
band and band over first floor openings. Central doorway with
panelled door, C19 ashlar lintel and open wood, brick and plain
tile porch. Either side are single sashes. Above are 3 cross
casements. All ground and first floor windows with flush wedge
brick lintels. In each garret is a single casemet under
segmental arch with keyblock, over each is a band of raised brick
and dentil. To the right, set back, is a 2 storey plus cellar, 2
bay, red brick, ashlar and plain tile wing with right red brick
gable stack and first floor band to the left single bay. Single
arched brick cellar opening in ashlar surround. Above is a
single cross casement. 2 similar casements above, all with flush
wedge brick lintels. Interior has dogleg staircase with C17
turned balusters. The old manor house was pulled down by
Nathaniel Curzon in 1719 and a new house was erected. Throsby,
