Font in Churchyard of Church of All Saints Single Metre North of the Chancel

A Grade II Listed Building in Thrumpton, Nottinghamshire

Early English Gothic font in All Saints churchyard, Thrumpton

Uploader's Comments

The font stands on an octagonal pedestal with a tapered top. The blind arcading decoration shows the wide capitals typical of Norman Transitional architecture, and the narrow, steep, arches of Early English Gothic. This could date the font even earlier than the C13 fabric of the church. (Photo Oct 2014).
