Although the original bridge has been replaced with a modern structure, the milestone remains, set in the wall, giving distances, (illegible, but the word Miles can still be seen dittoed), to Bradford, Holmfirth, Stayley Bridge, Ashton Under Lyne and Manchester, It is dated 1825 and signed J L Tyldesley.
