4/223 Gatepiers on north-east side
16.3.84 of entrance courtyard at Tylney
Hall
GV II

Gatepiers. Probably circa 1902 by Robert Weir Schultz. Banded red brick and
stone, attached to end of ballroom wing by short wall with diaper brickwork.
Single outer pier beyond main pair, slightly larger on shafted plan. The stone
cornice of the piers carries along the wall-top as coping, with oversailing
cornice to outer larger pier. Larger pier has raised block patterning on the
stone banding.
