Stables and coach-house to Gannow House (qv), enlarged and altered as dwelling house (used as vicarage to former Church of St John c1880, demolished); now partly store and the domestic addition now derelict. c1797. For the Leeds-Liverpool Canal Company; enlarged and altered in mid C19. Coursed squared sandstone, hipped slate roofs. PLAN: irregular plan formed by former stable range on north-south axis with a cottage attached at the north-east corner, and the domestic addition built as a single-depth wing at the south end, facing south. EXTERIOR: all 2 storeys, with cellars to the added domestic portion. The 3-window south facade of this is symmetrical, with a moulded gutter cornice; a narrow centre bay very slightly set back and containing a doorway with a plain surround, moulded cornice and a recessed panelled door; and vertical-rectangular windows with raised sills and plain surrounds, all now lacking the glazing. Tall chimney at left side wall. The right-hand return wall has one similar window on each floor. The west facade of the stable range has a low segmental-headed wagon doorway with plain voussoirs, a stable door at the left end, an inserted or altered window between these, and 2 round-headed windows above, with altered glazing. The cottage at the north-east corner has a 1-window north front with a doorway to the left, and a 2-window east side (with only one window at ground floor). INTERIOR not inspected. Forms group with No.108B (Gannow House, qv).
