Pair of cottages, formerly part of handloom weavers' colony.
Late C18 or early C19, slightly altered. Watershot coursed
squared sandstone (now with white-painted strap-pointing),
rendered gable; stone slate roof. Double-depth plan, each
cottage single-fronted but No.25 much wider than No.27.
2 low storeys, 1+2 windows. Doorways offset left of centre,
both with square-cut monolithic jambs and lintels but No.25
larger than No.27; mullioned window of 2 square lights at
ground floor of No.25, with C20 4-pane glazing, and 2 oblong
windows under the eaves (now with C20 casements); square
window at ground floor of No.27 and an oblong 2-light casement
under the eaves, both with C20 glazing. Gable chimneys.
