Shown as The Lodge on O.S. Map.
Former entrance lodge to Holme Hall (qv). Dated 1841. Coursed
dressed limestone with ashlar sandstone dressings; graduated
slate roof. Tudor Revival style.
EXTERIOR: single storey and attic in compact T-shaped plan
with gabled entrance towards drive to Holme Hall and 2-window
front facing Holme Lane. Chamfered plinth, large quoins.
Double-chamfered mullioned windows with leaded lights and
dripmoulds.
Porch and main gables with shaped kneelers, chamfered gable
copings and shaped finials. Entrance front: open-fronted
ashlar porch with moulded Tudor arch; 3-panelled pine door
within, the lintel dated '1841'. Flanking single-light windows
and 2-light window to attic.
Short wing set back to right in same style. Left return
(facing Holme Lane): 2-light window on left of canted ashlar
bay window of 1:2:1-lights beneath ashlar roof.
Roof with rolled tile ridge with central stack having twin
diagonally-set flues with cornices.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
