Former school, now offices. Dated 1724. Brick with painted
stone dressings and plain tiled roof. 2 storeys with gabled
dormers in the hipped roof, 3 bays (1-3-1), the outer bays
advanced. Central doorway with shouldered architrave and heavy
segmental pediment capped by inscribed stone recording
"Founded by Thomas Bowdler 1724". This links doorway with
window over which has elaborate consoles over sill. Windows
are all casements with transoms, with moulded sills and
segmentally-arched heads with keystones. Continuous string
course over ground floor. Projecting modillion eaves band.
Angle quoins stress projecting outer bays. Coped gable to
rear, side wall stack.
