Pair of semi-detached houses, now flats. c1870, by Norman Shaw, resited 1921. Coursed squared stone and close studding with rendered nogging, ashlar dressings and gabled and hipped plain tile roofs with decorative ridge tiles. Tudor Revival style. 2 ridge and 2 side wall coped stone stacks. Single storey plus basement and attics; 4 window range. Windows have leaded glazing and wooden mullions. Projecting centre has large timber-framed double gable with carved bargeboards and elaborate wrought-iron finials. Jettied upper floor on brackets, with two 3-light windows in each gable, with carved cambered bressumer. Below, each gable has 2 larger 3-light cross casements Beyond, on either side, a set back entrance bay with a chamfered ashlar pointed arched doorcase with studded plank door. The doors are reached by round-arched stone bridges with wooden balustrades, spanning the area. Basement has in the centre a square panel with coat of arms, flanked by single small wooden cross casements, then smaller single casements. INTERIOR not inspected. This building was formerly the upper floors of the entrance front of Preen's Manor, Church Preen, Salop, demolished 1921-22 and salvaged for re-erection here.
