Former lodge to workhouse (now demolished), now house. Mid
C19. Coursed, squared limestone with ashlar ridge stack and
slate cross-gabled roof. Tudor Revival style. Single-depth
plan.
2 storeys; 1-window range. Coped gables with roll-top
mouldings and moulded kneelers, a right-hand projecting gable
with first-floor cross window and altered ground-floor window,
with a blocked left-hand entrance in plain surround. Left-hand
return gable has 2 ground-floor cross windows and single
first-floor early C20 window. Parapeted rear extension.
Lattice casements to the cross windows. INTERIOR not
inspected.
A similar style to the former laundry (qv).
