Stables and fire station, now social club. Mid C19. Coursed
limestone rubble, render, ashlar gable stacks and stone slate
double-pile roof. Double-depth plan.
3 storeys; 4-window range. Road front has a round-arched
doorway with a flat-headed doorway inset, inscribed FIRE
ENGINE HOUSE, with timber lintels to right-hand casement
windows above; right-hand windowless range has a lateral
stack. Opposite pair of coped gables with crow-stepped section
and lateral stacks; S front has plain surrounds to
stone-mullioned and transomed windows.
INTERIOR: altered; iron posts support first-floor beams.
Built as the stable range to Woodlands (not included),
incorporating fire station at road level.
