Terraced house with later shop. Mid C18. Yellow stock brick with red brick
dressings. 3 storeys and cellar. 2 windows. Ground floor with C20 wooden
shopfront. Gauged red brick flat arches to recessed sashes with original
glazing bars. Stone sills. Rebuilt parapet. Interior retains much of its
original plan form and detail. Some panelling at rear of C20 shop and boxed
over access to cellar. Original dog leg stair throughout full height of
house with turned balusters (except one turn from 1st floor), column newels
and moulded handrails. Stairwell with most of original panelling and
cornices. 1st floor rooms with panelling, cornices and panelled partition
with panelled door having H hinges. 2nd floor front room mostly panelled;
3rd floor front room panelled and rear room partition to stair. Some
original doorcases.
stepping outwards, then a fairly shallow cornice with prominent mutules
with round ornaments cut into it. Door surround to corridor richly carved
with acanthus leaves, frieze over with mask in high relief and cornice
above. Some C20 partitioning. 2nd and 3rd floor front rooms with good
fire surrounds. Attics altered in C20. Basement with section of early
C18 studded dado.
