Gothic summerhouse. 1759. Probably by Thomas Wright. Coursed
and squared rubble and brick with ashlar dressings and plain tile
gabled and lean-to roofs. Stone plinth, string course, coped
gables, crenellated parapets. West front has 2 steps dated 1759
and slightly projecting central bay with pointed opening and
rebated ogee headed surround. Flanked by single round corner
towers with slit lights and pulvinated plinths. Above, 2
roundels flanked by single shaped blank openings. Each tower has
a blank quatrefoil. North and south sides have each blocked
pointed and round headed openings. East side has lean-to roof
with central gable containing round opening with pigeonholes.
Interior has pointed and round headed recesses in side walls.
This building formed part of the garden design of Nuthall Temple
which was demolished in 1926.
