House. Probably C17 origins, partly remodelled in the circa 1830s. Stone rubble. Slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble end stacks.

Plan: Original plan uncertain. The house is of two-room and cross passage plan, the larger hall kitchen on left heated by an end stack and probably parlour on right. There is a small projection to the rear of the left hand room which may have been a dairy or possibly a stair projection. The front wall of the house appears to have been rebuilt in the circa 1830s.

There are blocked doorways on the ground and first floor which would have connected Steers Villa with the house to rear. The exact arrangement between these two houses is uncertain and although it is possible that the house to rear may be earlier than Steers Villa it has been considerably altered in the C20 and is not included in the list.

Exterior: Two storeys. Almost symmetrical three-window front with complete C19 sashes with original crown glass and dressed stone arches to ground floor openings in centre and to right. C19 six-panel door with flat hood with 16-pane sash to rightand 16-pane sash to left in granite surround of two-light mullion window with hoodmould above. Three 16-pane sashes on first floor. Two-light mullion window in left hand side and on first floor of small projection to rear left is a small unglazed two-light window with unusual cusped heads constructed of a single piece of Polyphant stone.

Interior: Chamfered granite lintel to fireplace in left hand room. Replaced floor joists and stair. Fireplace in chamber above left hand room has a chamfered granite lintel, the run-out stops of which do not correspond with the narrower fine quality chamfered ashlar Polyphant jambs.
