the description should be ammended to read:-

Former rectory, now house. Dated 1847 for Joseph Woolfe. D. D, Vicar
of the parish, restored 1950's by Lieut. Colonel Boulter; later C20
alterations. Local lias random coursed rubble, replacement concrete
tile roof. Tudor-Gothic style, roughly T-plan. Two storeys, garden
front of 1:1 bays; to left projecting under a front-facing gable,
restored 5-light mullioned and transomed bay window, battlemented
cornice, stone roof, 3-light stone-mullioned and transomed window
on first floor, coped verge and finial to gable; to right on ground
floor a mullioned and transomed window and a single-light window,
on first floor a 2-light casement dormer; cast-iron casements to
ground floor with plate glass panes, glazing bars to upper windows.
Entrance front on left return, largely restored, has a front-facing
gable with stone-roofed canted bay, 4-light casement on first floor.
Gabled projecting porch, 4-centered door opening, coped parapet,
inner panelled and glazed door; projecting chimney-breast to right
with date plaque; 1987 conservatory to rebuilt left bay not of special
interest.
Interior: Original panelled doors, moulded architraves, decorated
fireplace to former dining room and plainer fireplaces elsewhere,
stair with chamfered stick balusters and ogee-topped newels. Woolfe
was well known for his conversion to the Catholic faith and his
subsequent embracing of the Anglican church, his life is well
documented in contemporary sources.
Coach-house with stable attached to north-west and outbuildings
attached to west not of special interest.
