Pair of house. Part of a planned estate built between 1843 and
1850 by John Snell. Italianate style. Built of stock brick with
hipped slate roof and 2 brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys and
basement, 6 windows. Cornice and 4 giant pilasters 1st floor has
cambered sashes with marginal glazing to central 4 bays (with
cast iron anthemion-motif flower guards to ground floor windows)
and round headed windows to end bays. Doorcases with cornices
with tablets over and pilasters and flight of stone steps with
cast iron railings. Rusticated stuccoed basement with marginal
glazed windows and cast iron spiral railings to area.
