Detached town garden pavilion. Circa 1890. Red brick. Plain tile roof with gable to front
and rear, the front with deep verges, the wall-plates projecting on brick corbels; terracotta finial over front gable. Small square-plan building with doorway at centre of the west front, flanked by integral windows with ramped blue brick cills. Chamfered comers. Lancet windows in side walls with similar cills. Hill Close Gardens were established in about 1846 as pleasure garden allotments and by 1877 there were 37 garden plots. They were laid out as detached gardens for town houses without gardens.
