Bastle house, late C16 or early C17. Large irregular rubble with roughly-shaped
quoins and dressings; Scots slate roof, one brick stack. 2 storeys, 2 bays.
Central renewed door in old chamfered surround, inside C20 porch. Above and to
right of porch a blocked door with flat-pointed head. C20 casement windows, in
C18/early C19 openings except lower right. Steeply-pitched roof with raised
gable copings and end stacks, that to right rebuilt.
Interior: old roughly-chamfered 1st floor beams; some 2-panel doors. Principal-
rafter roof trusses. Attic chamber with small fireplace associated with local
tradition of Jacobite refugee in early C18.
