Bears inscription: "Erected for the Public Benefit October 1835 to commemorate the third centenary of the first printing of the English Bible", followed by quotation.
Panelled and ornamented cast-iron obelisk, with later shell pattern water basin. Surmounted by four upstanding openwork consoles to ladderbar carrying hexagonal tapered lantern with finial. Cast by Joseph Cranston of Hemel Hempstead.
