House. Cl7; extended in C18 and or C19. Stuccoed timber frame.
Gable-ended roof with concrete tiles at front and plain clay
tiles at rear. Brick gable end stack. Plan: 1 bay (plus chimney
bay or remains of another complete bay on right), 1-room plan,
heated from gable end stack on right and with later outshuts at
rear. Exterior: 2 storeys. 1-window south front with C20 16-pane
sashes and doorway to left with moulded frame, simple wooden
canopy on shaped brackets and C20 glazed door. Right hand (east)
end is blank. At rear outshut has been raised and now has flat
roof. Interior: The timber-framing was exposed during repairs and
appears to be largely complete, including:- storey posts, some
close-studding, rails and tension braces; tie-beam and queen-post
roof trusses at either end with clasped purlins above the collar,
curved wind-braces, intermediate collar with birdsmouth joint to
purlins; the upper sections of the common rafters, above the
purlins, are missing. The first floor is supported on a chamfered
axial beam with (step?) stops and similarly chamfered and stopped
joists. Winder staircase beside brick stack.
