Description

ROLLRIGHT LITTLE ROLLRIGHT
SP23SE
1/141 Nos.1, 2 and 3 Manor Farm
Cottages

GV II

3 small houses, possibly originally one dwelling. Probably mostly C17,
re-modelled C19. Coursed limestone rubble with some ashlar dressings;
Welsh-slate roofs with brick stacks. L-shaped range. 2 storeys and one storey
plus attic. Longer range, containing 2 dwellings, steps down to left over No.3
and has C19 and C20 casements, in No.2 with rubble segmental arches.
Steep-pitched roof. Right end wall of No.2 retains two 2-light C17 ovolo-moulded
stone-mullioned windows with labels plus a datestone inscribed "D/EC/1635".
Shorter range returning from it (No.1) has a shallower C19 roof, but has 4
similar mullioned windows of 2 and 3 lights; internal gable has a weathered C17
datestone. Interiors not inspected. Initials on datestone probably refer to
Edward and Cecily Dixon who are commemorated in the Church of St. Philip (q.v.).
The houses adjoins a moated site.
