Cottage, C17 or earlier timber-framed building was almost completely
demolished in the early C18 except for the C17 external brick
Chimneystack and part of the adjoning ground floor room. 1 bay
extension in diaper brickwork was added initially, followed soon
afterwards by a further bay in plain brickwork. Early C19 outshut to
rear. C20 porch to rear of chimneystack and small lean-to in front.
Left bay of red brick with black headers, right-hand bay of brown
brick to ground floor and orange brick above. Tiled roof and external
brick chimneystack of C17 brickwork with kneelers to left-hand side.
Tiled gable with small attic window to left, exposed tie beam and
collar beam to right-hand gable. 2 storeys, 2 windows. C20 casements
in enlarged openings including bay window to left side ground floor.
C20 timberframed porch to rear of chimneystack and C20 lean-to brick
extension in front of stack. C19 catslide outshot to rear. Interior
has open fireplace with wooden bressumer and arched salt niche.
Attached ground floor barn has 2-inch chamfered spine beams and floor
joists with run out stops. Other room has 1½-inch chamfered axial beam
C18 winder stair. 1st floor has sooted tie beam and C18 tie beam roof
above. Early C19 fireplace with later arched opening with Minton
tiles. Wide pine floorboards, differently aligned in each room. Series
of early C19 plank doors on pintle hinges, including one with circular
cut out to outshut. Outshut has brick floor.
