Milestone. Probably late C18. Doulting stone pillar, chamfered leading edges, rounded top, about 340 mm wide, 220 mm
thick, standing about 800 mm high; Cast iron plaque bolted on, 250 mm wide and 310 mm high, reading: "Bruton 2" in
raised Roman lettering. This was one of the first roads to be taken over by the Bruton Turnpike Trust in 1756.
