Coach house and stable block. Mid C19. Gault brick slate roof. Two storeys with
elliptical inner and outer arch to carriage entrance with double boarded doors shaped
to arch. Pitching doors and windows to street elevation. Courtyard facade. Coach
house and stable to left hand of carriage way, and coach house and two stables to
right hand with first floor accommodation for coachman. Coach house doors replaced
with C20 sliding doors. Original boarded stable doors with rectangular fanlights
with glazing bars in cambered gauged brick arches; stable windows with similar arches
and glazing bars, half glazed with lower half having wooden shuttered ventilation.
First floor windows with metal casements replacing original windows but some retaining
internal folded shutters. Two boarded pitching doors each with two glass panels.
The stables served No 42 St Mary's Street. Included for group value only.
