Public road bridge over Went Beck. Dated 1810 on east side. Punched
sandstone blocks. Semicircular arch with rusticated voussoirs and keystones,
raised bands, parapets and rectangular terminal piers of very large grooved
blocks, with rounded copings. Centre of band on east side inscribed:
¨B. Hartley Arch.t¨

Masonry of west side of bridge continued northwards approx. l0 metres as part
of retaining wall to road. The south end of the bridge is in Hessle and
Hilltop CP.
