Cemetery lodge and office. 1860. By Pearson Bellamy and J Spence Hardy
of Lincoln. Thinly coursed ironstone with pale ashlar limestone
dressings; banded slate roofs. 1:3:1 bays having 1 storey and attic
centre flanked by single storey wings. Gothic Revival style. Chamfered
plinth. Central bay breaks forward slightly and has 2-centred carriage
arch with hoodmould; original cast-iron gates.
Narrower gable above with triangular oriel window having shouldered
lights, brattishing and ashlar roof. On left of arch is a 3-light
window with plain tracery, 2-centred arch and hoodmould. To right is
a canted bay window with cusped tracery, brattishing and ashlar roof;
from it rises a gabled dormer with 2-light window. Crested ridges and
projecting end stacks with brattished caps. Side wing set back on left
has cusped lancet beneath a small gable; half-hipped end to main roof.
Side bay on right is blank screen wall with later infill behind.
Rear: office in single storey wing behind bay 4 has projecting end
stack with offsets and brattished cap. To right of arch are square-
headed 2-light windows, that to ground floor with tracery.
