Formerly 2 dwellings, now a single office, and part of a
terrace of 5 units. c1740. Brick with heavy slate roof to
No.9, plain tiles to No.10. 2-storeyed. No.9 a 4-window range,
No.10 a 2-window range. Interlocking internal planning, both
double pile. Doorway to No.9 in a heavy pedimented porch,
carried on cylindrical shafts. Overlight, and panelled rebates
to doorcase. Windows are 12-pane flush-framed sashes with
flat-arched gauged brick heads. No.10 has doorway with
overlight and panelled rebates to moulded architrave. Both
have overhanging eaves with deep moulding, and pedimented
dormers in the roof. Coped gables, and end wall stacks.
INTERIOR: both houses have surviving original staircases, with
4 turned balusters per tread, swept handrail and panelled
dado.
