Pair of houses, now in commercial use. c1800. Brick with Welsh
slate roof. 3 storeys, 4-window range with 2 late C19 shop
fronts with outer doorways and 2-pane windows with architraves
and continuous fascia. Upper windows are 12-pane sashes with
flat-arched gauged brick heads. Plain parapet eaves. Chamfered
angle to left with upper storey slightly corbelled out.
3-window range in gable return with central 6-panelled door
with overlight in pedimented case. Inserted shop window to
right, and 16-pane sash window to left. Upper windows also
16-pane sashes, with 12-panes over doorway. Blind semicircular
window in gable apex. Lower rear wing adjoins. 3 storeys, with
outer doorways and two 12-pane sash windows to ground floor,
9-pane sash windows above. Dentilled eaves band, axial stack.
Forms a single build with No.48 (qv).
