Hotel. Probably C16 refronted early C18. Roughcast render over
brick with timber-framing to rear and plain tiled roof. 2
storeys and attic dormers, 6-window range. Late C19 shop front
to right, and doorway flanked by sash windows of 2 and 12
panes to left. Segmental archway to rear courtyard to left.
Upper windows are 12-pane sashes. 2 string courses. 3 gabled
dormers in the roof, gable end stacks. Traces of timber frame
visible internally, and the rear wing is entirely timber
framed, in square panels with some arched bracing in timbers
of slight scantling. In the east facing wall, some evidence of
phasing, with close-studded section adjoining main range
framed separately from the rest. Inserted casement windows.
