Gate piers, gate, wall and railings
to north of Hough Lane Centre

Formerly known as: Bramley Board School HOUGH LANE Bramley.
Pair of gate piers with gate and boundary wall with railings.
1877. By RL Adams, Leeds School Board architect. Gate piers of
carved stone, approx 2.5m high; railings approx 3m long to
roadside, turning corner to enclose the NE side of the school.
Piers: high plinth, shaft carved with attached columns at
corners, band of roundels, gabled capstone with cusped
recessed panels and moulded top. Gate and railings of
cast-iron on low ashlar wall with chamfered coping: rods have
bulbous finials, scrolled finials to gate, thickened corner
standard with moulded bud finial.
Although not complete these railings show the high quality of
design and craftsmanship typical of this Board School.
