GV II

Road bridge over canal. 1770-77, parapet probably rebuilt c1816. Ashlar. Single segmental arch with vermiculated rustication to voussoirs and buttresses. Parapet above band at road level has incised plain panels. Walling at south end of west parapet links to the Canal Company Office (qv); the parapets were probably built when the office was completed, after the linking of the canal through to Liverpool in 1816.
