Pair of lodges, gate piers and gates, with flanking walls and
bollards. Early C19, gates later C19. Ashlar, traces of white
paint, cast-iron gates.
Single-storey lodges, 3 bays, the outer bay set back.
Pilasters supporting entablature with wide cornice and
blocking course surviving right. 2 windows and round-arched
niche face road, doorway facing drive with pilasters and
entablature. Former shallow slate hipped roofs and small
central chimneys missing, now roofless, all floors and
interior features removed apart from steps to cellars in right
lodge.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: gate piers approx 3m high, pilastered
sides, deep cornices and flat capstones; ornate Classical
motifs to top, bottom and lock bands of double gates,
spearhead finials. Low ashlar flanking wall right and high
wall flanking each lodge, approx 2.5m high and 15m long;
slender chamfered conical stone bollards follow curve of
approach road to gateway.
