GV II

2 cottages and screen wall with gate pier. Late C18, altered
C19. Probably for Beecroft and Butler families. Coursed
squared gritstone, slate roof.
2 storeys, 2 first-floor windows. Quoins to right. Doorway,
now window, to left in each bay, tie-stone jambs left, plain
surround right. 2 large square windows to ground floor, both
have lowered sill; 3-light flat-faced mullion windows to upper
floor, the right window rebuilt. Brick stacks to right of each
bay. Screen wall extends to right, approx 3m high, rounded
coping, approx 4m long, doorway, now window left; a loophole
right and plaque recording insertion during the Second World
War; to right again a gate pier of rusticated ashlar with ball
finial.
