Gate piers and railings to front
gardens of Nos.2-14

GV II

Gate piers and railings. Probably c1847-50. Dressed sandstone
plinth and gate piers, cast-iron railings. One-course plinth
of dressed monolithic blocks approx 40cm high, carrying simple
bar railings with elaborated arrowhead tops, and interrupted
by gateways (in line with the front doors of the houses) which
have monolithic piers of slightly varied design (gates
altered). Included for group value.
All the listed buildings in Marine Terrace, together with
those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine
Crescent, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of
Crosby.
