House, forming part of terraced row; with attached verandah.
c1826-30; altered. Painted stucco, slate roof with red ridge
tiles and stuccoed chimney to left. Double-depth
single-fronted plan with back extension.
2 storeys and 2 windows; moulded gutter cornice. Three-bay
verandah with slender cast-iron columns, frieze with diamond
enrichment, and lead-clad roof. The ground floor has a
square-headed doorway to the right with moulded architrave and
panelled half-glazed door, and 2 tall windows with 3-stage
sashed glazing; the 1st floor has 2 rectangular windows with
altered glazing.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Adjoins No.7 to the right (qv) and No.9 to the left (qv).
All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, together with
those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine
Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of
Crosby.
