House, now shop. Early C18 with C19 alteration and extension;
further alteration and shopfront in C20. Front of painted
brick, rendered at rear; pantile roof with brick stack at
front, hipped slate roof to extension.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 3-window front. Shopfront has recessed door
between plate glass windows. At right end, segment- arched
carriageway is closed by panelled double doors. Windows on
first floor are 4-pane sashes with segmental brick arches, on
second floor squat 6-pane sashes with flat arches: all have
painted sills. Eaves frieze. Rear: 3-storey gable wall.
Altered doorway on ground floor, 16-pane sash windows with
segmental brick arches on first and second floors.
INTERIOR: only partially inspected. Close string staircase
from first to second floor, lower flight with Chinese
Chippendale balustrade, upper flight with stick balusters:
moulded and ramped handrail.
