Two shops. Mid C19 with C20 shopfronts. Orange-grey brick in
Flemish bond with cornice and shopfronts of timber; slate roof
with brick stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 6-bay front, with canted corner bay between
2 bays to Goodramgate, 3 bays to Aldwark. Both shops have
plate glass windows in plain surrounds, that to 9 returned on
Aldwark front. On Goodramgate front, first floor window to
right is tripartite sash with 12-pane centre sash and consoles
at heads of mullions, and to left 16-pane sash: second floor
windows are unequal 12-pane sashes. On Aldwark front,
shopfront has former shop door to left. Windows are 12-pane
sashes on first floor, unequal 9-pane sashes on second floor.
All windows have flat brick arches and painted stone sills.
Moulded eaves cornice on block brackets returns on both
fronts.
